As I prepare to retire on October 28, 2022, and leave the Association, I’m reminded of the past
36 years in this industry and I’m so grateful for the many people who supported, encouraged,
and taught me how to do this really important work. I have seen many changes come and go
over the years, but the one thing that has remained constant is the dedication and commitment
of our members to serve. The jobs you do are very challenging and frustrating at times,
especially, since funding is inadequate to provide the level of service needed in most
communities. However, you continue to provide compassionate and critical services anyway. I
have been humbled to serve as your first Executive Director for the past 6 years and I wish our
incoming Executive Director, Tom Scott, great success as he takes over the helm. I will miss the
many wonderful people I have met and worked with over the years and wish you all health,
prosperity, and peace.

Goodbye for now!
