CA PA|PG|PC is seeking an Executive Director!

About CA PA|PG|PC:

The California Association of Public Administrators, Public Guardians, and Public Conservators is seeking an Executive Director to lead this small non-profit organization with an annual operating budget of approximately $400,000. CA PA|PG|PC’s mission is to provide certification and training, promote collaboration between our members and advance legislative priorities. CA PA|PG|PC’s vision is for all California counties to be successful in protecting the most vulnerable residents and estates across their lifespan and after death. Summary of Duties:

  • Ensure ongoing robust and interesting training opportunities, accurate certification records, organization of conferences, programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and general operating systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve strategic goals.
  • Actively engage and energize CA PA|PG|PC board members, the Association’s membership, partner organizations, and funders.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and retain high-performance staff.  Ensure effective systems to track progress and regularly evaluate program components to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to board members, the Association’s membership, partner organizations and funders.
  • Maintain effective relationships with partner organizations, both public and private, and enhance the Association’s membership in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Association.
  • Partner with board members and the Association’s lobbyist to establish the Association’s legislative platform and address legislative issues as needed. Provide the Association’s membership with timely information regarding legislation impacting the Association and partner organizations.
  • Travel as needed for annual conference trainings within the State of California. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Work Experience Qualifications:

  • Strong data management and reporting skills for quality assurance and presentation of data in reports, memos, charts, graphs, and other appropriate forms.
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage to a Board approved budget.
  • Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing Board Member relationships.
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
  • Experience using: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Google Suite, Zoom (virtual meeting platforms), and ability to work effectively in secure databases.
  • Knowledge of the work Public Administrators, Public Conservators and Public Guardians do is desirable, but not required.

Compensation Highlights:

  • Salary – $110,000-130,000 commensurate with experience  
  • Monthly medical insurance stipend – $1,000
